Breeding Loan info request

ssnakes Aug 07, 2010 09:45 AM

If anyone has done breeding loans and you can offer me info on how you arranged it, I would really appreciate your input.

Please contact me at susan@ssnakes.com.
Thanks!

Susan, I sent you an email with an attached breeder loan agreement. This is an agreement I put together for our company's use. I tried to cover every potential problem. It is very detailed but you usually want more specific langauge rather than less in a situation such as a breeder loan. Hope this helps.

Thank you Alice! I got your agreement and this is kind of what I thought I should have. It looks like you covered it very well...thanks for sending me a copy, I appreciate your help!

Any chance you can post this?
Or send it my way?

You might be a ball python fanatic if you subconsciously convert the price of virtually everything in to units of piebald ball pythons

unless all the snakes and eggs stay at your house I would never do it, no matter what kind of contract or agreement you have. too many shady folks in this business that get greedy once babies start pipping.

Hi Stu,
The proposal is for exactly that...all animals stay with me but I also get to do all the work! I will have total care and control of all animals involved. I don't think I'd ever let my animals go off my property and into someone else's care.

Thanks for your thoughts and advice.

I feel the same way. I would never lend my snake to anyone. At the same time why should someone lend you a snake? If you are asking to borrow a snake, you should also be willing to do the same for someone else. Just an observation.

" At the same time why should someone lend you a snake? If you are asking to borrow a snake, you should also be willing to do the same for someone else."

Because I have the visuals and he does not. Plain and simple.
I remember back 18 years when I wanted visuals more than anything. If you become aquainted with a breeder who is willing to take your normal female and breed her to co-dom/dom and give you visuals......you WILL do it in a second! I would have done it readily 18 years ago.
