On August 5th, exactly 2 months after they were laid, the eggs that resulted from the mating of these two Baird's rat snakes...

...began hatching.

First one out. Cool head pattern.

don't you love how large and robust they are...I've had several I've started on fuzzies.
I repeat it often but Bairdis are truly an underated North American rat snake...but we're working on that.
