cooking road kill

rtdunham Aug 08, 2010 11:21 PM

ok, i didn't really,

I "ran across" this not on a highway but on an internet menu site. a man's meal: burger patty topped with cheese then wrapped in bacon, with hot dogs for appendages. bake 20-30 mins at 400 degrees. the original menu i saw called for weaving the bacon strips crossways, created a more shell-like appearance, with "scutes".

enjoy!

Oh Jerry,

If you ever meet Desiree Wong from IRCF ask her about the steak house she ate at.

Cindy, I am afraid to ask what might have been on the "steak" plate.

For some strange reason, I seriously doubt it was a beef sirloin!..LOL!!

never tried turtle...snake's got too many ribs, gator isn't bad (our grocery store sells it) but it's too pricey.
If it's made of meat I'm probably willing to try it (unless it involves genitals, that passes my gross out threshold).

I'd hoped the subject would inspire some of the resident wits, and it did. And thanks to mod Faust for letting such an OT thread slide thru. No harm no foul, right?!

(as aside: my niece's date to the cookout ate most of the "turtle" and shared this recent history: for Lent, his 40-day* commitment was to eat nothing but meat! That's right. Only meat. For 40 days. It was a bet with his roommate. He said it got tough toward the end when he'd be hungry, and he'd have to swing by a mcdonald's, buy a hamburger and throw away the bread and eat the patty. You've gotta love college kids.)

*--i know, depends on who's counting.
