MDF for snake racks????????

Hey all does mdf hold up? I would guess you have to keep box tops on to fight moisture?

any help would be great i need to get some info an start building soon!

I have found MDF to be my least favorite building material. It doesn't have the strength of other materials. It chips. It swells. I can't stand the stuff.

The entire structure, no. However, the 1/4 inch MDF or hardboard material makes a great shelf liner on which to put the heat if using belly heat.

Your best bet is either using melamine for shelves or else expanded PVC on a wood frame. Frame of 1x2s, PVC sheet on top and bottom, attach that to side supports.

Or do a floating box on rails, kind of like this one-shelf rack:
