Peninsula Intergrades

mhaze Aug 09, 2010 11:03 AM

Hi all. I've been a lurker for a long time. I thought I'd come out from under my log and share a photo of one of my Peninsula Intergrade Kings (L. g. getula x L. g. floridana). This one is from Citrus County, FL, and about 4.5' long. They're really variable in that area.

Cheers!
Mike

Mike, do you have photos of any others from your area? I have a female that I caught in Citrus County around the end of March this year.

I've caught Peninsula Intergrades in Pinellas, Citrus and Levy Counties over the past few years.

Here are a few photos:

Levy County:

Wow, great examples! I do have some photos, but they're not digital. It's been about 10 years since I lived there. It will take some time to dig them up and scan, but I'll do my best.

Most of the ones I've seen in Citrus look a lot like your female. I've seen some from Citrus that look more like your Levy county king, too. Those Pinellas County animals are special. A friend of mine has some of those. I'm a Florida native transplant in the Raleigh, NC area. I miss central Florida snakes. Thanks for posting yours.

I know the feeling! I moved to Indiana from Clearwater, FL a couple years ago. It really cuts down on my FL king hunting time!

Are you breeding any Citrus County locale kings? Though I plan to catch my own, I wouldn't mind picking up a CB male as a backup for my female.

I'm hoping to have some available next season. I'll keep you posted. Keep me in mind if you ever have any Pinellas County kings available.

Thanks,
Mike

Sounds good. I won't have any Pinellas this year, but should have a bunch next year.

Are you going to attend the reptile show in Raleigh on Labor Day Weekend? I should be there at Sunshine Serpents' table.

I haven't been to that one in a few years, but I'm planning on going this time. I'll stop by.

Yeah I like the looks of that Pinellas County also!

We love um! Especially that one guy Rainman or something like that? He can't stop talking about Florida kings. Welcome to the club, ha ha. I'd love to see more pics of what you got.
