Loaded to the neck bone!

Loaded to the neck bone!

A long time ago I heard the expression “Loaded to the NECK BONE” from Bigg Mike of Basically Boas. I have always loved the expression or description of the gravid female that is seemingly packed as full as is possible with progeny. Now, today I am making an effort to share this wonderful phrase with the rest of the Reptile world so that we may all share in this wonderfully descriptive, and certainly scientifically, kind of, sort of, at least partially accurate technical term.

I have been planning on making a post regarding this term for months. I have just been waiting and waiting to find a female sitting in the PERFECT position to get this angle of a perfect shot to illustrate exactly what “Loaded to the Neck Bone” means. Yesterday I finally got that picture of the Boa pictured below. I am suggesting that this be added to the Reptilian “lexicon” of terms that we all just know and understand exactly what they mean. Let the term “Loaded to the Neck Bone” be added to the other universally known and accepted terms like “Post Ovulation Shed” and the “Heat Conservation Position”. Let us all now embrace the “Loaded to the Neck Bone” triumph!

Here is a perfect example of a gravid female that is actually due any moment that is in fact…

“Loaded to the Neck Bone”!!!

This three year old six foot exceedingly dark Prodigy female is “Loaded to the Neck Bone”! Due any second now, I just took this picture yesterday. Produced by Clay English, he is only one of two Prodigy T-Positive females in existence in the world, and I am fortunate to have had her since she was a baby. For anyone that is unfamiliar with the “Prodigy Boas”, here is a picture of her brother I took last summer…

I am not sure exactly what she is going to have in this litter yet… but I do know for a FACT that she is “Loaded to the Neck Bone”!

Jeff, that post makes me wonder what if?? Here is a pic of a 6-7ft. female boa i purchased as a baby about 13? years ago from a petstore kid for $100. She never produced for me and died about 7 years ago. I always wondered what she would throw. That prodigy reminds me allot of her. What do you think?

Major bummer John Martino! That is a killer animal! T-Pos or not. It's a major bummer you were not able to find out. That is a killer! I would have done whatever you had to do to get her from that kid too. That's an exceptional "old school" type Colombian. Way far exceptional. Thanks for the pic.

When you were trying to breed her, were you trying to breed her with a Jungle? Can you imagine what a killer yellow Jungle would have made with her!? Wow!
