My newl arrival candy cane . . .>

terryp Sep 24, 2003 05:42 PM

My collection is almost extensively ratsnakes, but when I saw the candy cane cornsnakes that Gregg Feaster was producing I had to get a trio. The parents to this male are listed on Gregg's Reptile Basement website as coming from Don Soderberg. I don't know how these compare to others, but my cornsnake rookie eyes sure like them. Thanks Gregg, I have to admit you were right about them. They look nicer in person.

Corns are Red Ratsnakes. So you are still a rat snake guy!

Congrats, they are one of my favorites.

Gregg said he had some awesome babies this year from his Don Soderberg candy cane breeders. When he sent me pics of the babies, I remember saying how clean looking they are. Gregg also has some Miami het for candy cane that had me thinking about. Good luck

Didn't notice I'd misspelled your name.

Gregg of Gregg's Reptile Basement? The guy with the amel bairdi?

I've done business with Don Soderburg a couple of times, and he really has some great stuff. Very nice fellow as well.
Check out the pics of other morphs on his site. Pretty impressive.

A hint of advice: Your first cornsnake is like doing a family tree-pretty soon you find yourself branching out into areas better left alone. Then, you really question how you thought you could handle so much.

Have fun with 'em.

Yes, Gregg is the guy with the albino biardi. I'm waiting for him to produce some next year. You're correct on the branching out. Actually, I was browsing Gregg's website looking at the bairds and pituophis. I saw the name Don Soderberg under his corn on his stock page. I figured cornsnake attached to the name Don Soderberg deserves a look. That's all it took. It doesn't hurt that Gregg is great to do business with and just talk snakes or anything else. He really goes all out to make sure he has the best stock to wrok with and is very picky with making sure you are happy with the deal and that your snakes arrive safe and in the best health.
Here's the male half of my pair of lavender black ratsnakes from Dwight Good.
