Leopard Project

Greg Graziani Aug 12, 2010 12:54 PM

The leopard project just got a little more exciting!

This year we bred our original Leopard Piebald male to a Spider Het Piebald (his daughter). She did not exhibit the Leopard trait. The results of 4 eggs was 2 Leopard Piebalds, 1 Leopard Spider Piebald and a solid white black eyed snake. With absolutely no markings we will not know until offspring are produced if we have a solid white Piebald, Leopard Piebald, Spider Piebald or a Leopard Spider Piebald.

Then to make things even more exciting this little gem hatched out last night!

Enjoy,
Greg

Greg, you never cease to amaze me with some of the animals you produce.
Beautiful snakes, Congrats!
Would it be too much to ask if you could put up a Pic of the Leopard alone?
Ive personally never seen one.
Thanks!

Whatever they are, those are awesome! I'm loving the Leopard stuff. I've got a feeling what we've seen so far is just the tip of the iceberg.

Congrats Greg!

Hey Greg, I believe that your all white snake is in fact a spider pied. They have been coming out variable. They can be all white or have the spider head. I produced one like that in 08 and another breeder produced one last year and after talking to Steve Roussis his white wedding is in fact a spider pied also. I think with the spider het pied stuff being readily available these days were going to start seeing more and more of them. Great looking clutch congrats. Paul Wyble of Steel City Exotics

The white wedding has black eyes and red pupils like the picture that Greg posted? Interesting. I always thought a spider pied would have green eyes......

First of all I am just giving you my opinion here not trying to hijack Gregs thread at all. I believe there is no fire involved here at all. I think the all white snake is just a spider pied. I have one here that I am breeding now. When I first produced mine I contacted Steve Roussis about his white wedding project and he told me he wasnt sure exactly what was going on there but after we talked and I explaind what I produced he did admit that there was a spider het pied involved. And then that other guy overseas produced one too.

Also I got my male spider het pied from Greg a few years ago in Daytona. So I thought maybe it had something to to do with the leopard project but with Steve and this other guy producing the same thing makes me think that its just an all white version of the spider pied. Here is a pic of my spider het pied and my all white spider pied. When I produced it I thought it was something new and was very excited so I named mine the white widow.
