Blk rat Question Part2

xblackheart Aug 12, 2010 03:13 PM

these snakes are siblings. I noticed some of the snakes from this clutch are very black already and others hatched out light. My black rats normally hatch out kinda medium. They don't start to darken for quite a few sheds. The dark snakes hatched out visibly darker, looking like they are starting the color change already! lol. These are from the snakes that produced the white albino last year. What do you think?

Misti, not being a black rat genetic guru, I looks to me like you produced a snow. I dont recall white albinos being that pale as hatchlings. This also kind of falls in line with the axanthic/anery black rat issue. It may just be possible the blacks you have are het amel and anery/axanthic and you hit the odds just right with the snows and anerys!!!

I would think hypomelanistic. It kind of looks like a ghost corn but not a snow.

You say these are from the white albino? Was he/she bred to a normal?
