Purple Haze

dwherp Aug 12, 2010 05:29 PM

We've finally decided on a name for our new Dom or Co-dom. The base morph will be called Haze (sorry - we're not sharing photos just yet), and the Super Pastel version we've named Purple Haze... I'm sure Jimmy would approve

It's possible, but not probable, that the Purple Haze is in fact the Super Pastel Super Haze, rather than the Super Pastel Haze. This photo shows a Purple Haze flanked by a Desert and a Pastel Calico for color comparison. This photo was taken today, post-shed. It will be interesting to see how these snakes age. I'll keep you posted.

Best to all,
Dan

Awesome! Cant wait to see a picture of just the base morph itself!
And what a beautiful Background. That Pastel Calico is just gorgeous.

Absolutely beautiful! So many of the newer combos that have come out lately haven't really pushed any of my buttons (maybe they are better in person) but THIS one is DEFINITELY going to get added to my "Most Wanted" list!

Huge Congrats on that one!

I'm still not sure if it's weird that my best friend is a two year old boa named Ronin. He's quiet, non-judgemental and listens... what more could you want?

biggerdigger Aug 12, 2010 07:42 PM

Dan the purple haze is awesome, but the bright orange animal behind it blows it away! What is that? I have never seen such an incredibly orange ball before! Your PICS are amazing! Lets see that blaze orange snake!

BuzzardBall Aug 12, 2010 07:54 PM

That's a desert!

biggerdigger Aug 12, 2010 08:24 PM

I have seen plenty of Deserts........ I have never seen that blaze Orange! Show it Dan!

dwherp Aug 13, 2010 10:07 AM

Here you go. She was a bit cranky this morning - apparently she up stewing all night about the fact that she was merely a backdrop for the new purple snake.

Cheers,
Dan

When you have snakes like this.........Dan My screen is melting.
Truly unbelievable.

Dan,
I hate to break it to you - but the Name "Purple Haze " is taken already. It is the name that Eugene Bessette calls his Scaleless Ball.

Sorry Eugene - thought I'd done my research. Want to officially let everyone know that the name PURPLE HAZE, has been retracted, and the new name for the Super Pastel version of this new mutation is now:

PURPLE NURPLE

The heterozygous form is the:

NURPLE

"Purple Nurple snurple wurple.
Could you? Would you? Burple Gurple?"

...may not be Hendrix, but pair it with a mean guitar, and I really think you've got somethin' here!

I remember a "pop" we used to drink, when I was a kid, growing up in the Cleveland area called "Purple Passion"! I don't think that's taken!

dwherp Aug 13, 2010 09:12 AM

Okay, maybe I was a bit hasty with the new name, but I'm pretty sure it's at least not taken yet. With all the ball morphs and various combos, it's getting harder to come up with something original. Thank you for your suggestion - I too like the name Purple Passion, but alas that name has also already been used (Kevin McCurly - for the Phantom Mojave combo). I appreciate the help. So please, let's hear some more names!

Thanks,
Dan

People Eater, Purple People Eater and if you made the Fire, Super version you could call it the "Flying Purple People Eater".

For those who may not know, it's a song.

Aljino.. Similar to to Albino, yes.. But never been taken.
Or why don't we just play it simple and call it, "Ball Python #1"? We can just start making all the morphs name the order that they were made public..
Your Welcome Internet.

(PS This is a joke.. (: )

I like "amethyst".

Or, if we're sticking with throwing purple in the name, my suggestion is Royal Purple.

I am curious if he has reproduced his scaleless ball pythons. I couldn't find any info on his site about them at all.

I believe I heard on reptile radio a while back that Eugene's scaless (purple haze) died.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback and for the wonderful name ideas. When the second one sheds, I'll post another photo and hopefully have a new name picked out by then.

Dan
What about Purple Pastel and Super Purple Pastel? Great looking new morph whatever you decide to call it. I just thought I'd throw a name in the ring. Nice work.
