Successful Year with Kingsnake Clutches.

Brad_Lee Aug 14, 2010 07:12 PM

Thus far, I've had what I would consider a very successful year breeding my kings. I've had fertile clutches from the following (all locality specific): Eastern Kings: Northampton Cty, Virginia, Montgomery Cty, North Carolina and Edisto Island South Carolina (these are not "mosaics", just normals that were obtained from Hayward Clamp at the Edisto Island Serpentarium). Speckled Kings: Lincoln Cty, Kansas (only two fertile eggs) and LaFourche Parish, Louisiana (clutch of 9). Eastern Black Kings-Huntsville, Alabama (clutch of 9). California Kings: Carlsbad locale-two clutches; banded bred to a striped and a striped bred to a striped. Still waiting on two clutches of Long Beach locale Grease kings (females are currently gravid).

Hey Brad,
I never did get photos of your NC babies but don't worry about it. I did let the female Speckled go as she never would eat. The 5 eggs she laid should hatch around Sep 1st.
I may pick up some kings at Daytona.

Rick
