Savannah Broken Toes?

Emo_pwned Aug 14, 2010 07:13 PM

I have a Sav who is about 2 months old and 7 inches long. He was in really bad shape when I got him, dehydrated and extremely under fed. About two weeks after I got him I noticed one of his front claws was hanging by a single piece of skin, which later fell off. And I noticed all his claws on his front feet point inward rather than down. Some Stick straight up. Could it be from poor nutrition in the past? Or am i doing something wrong?

Your animal is suffering from a lifetime of bad husbandry. There may be a plethora of issues and problems.

Your primary concern should be to provide ideal husbandry and let the animal come to some type of base health. From there you can evaluate short and long term issues.

Toes loss is very common in poor setups.

Check out our site Pro Exotics at the link below for more info, look in our caresheet and FAQ sections. Get a copy of the Savannah book by Bennett and Ravi, that is going to be a must have.

Best of luck.
