Hatchling post shed...

What are we looking at? The smokey color of the black, or the yellow areas in the black?

The head pattern connecting to the neck blotches is really cool, but I can't notice anything else?
The belly is not black and there is no tellow or orange on the ventral scales... The vent scales are also void of color...
I seen this pop up in other hogs here and there... Just wondering how common it is...

I figured that's what you were talking about. I think the colors on that animals ventral were just not developed all the way. I bet the black will darken and the yellow will come in sooner or later. Keep us posted.

Thanks Jon.
These are my first hog hatchlings since 1994... Figured I would get some opinions on the matter... I will hold on to this little girl for a bit to see what happens...
I immediately noticed the clear belly scales. Only because I just had a small clutch hatch out and they have the same clear scales. Their bellies are mostly black. There's a few belly scales that are clear instead of colored. My breeding was DH for snow X DH for snow. No snows, albinos, or axanthics but the clutch was way too small to say that my female 66% DH is not a het. My male came from Brent and there is no question that he is a DH as I have full trust in Brent. I believe the clear scales will prove to be a marker. Your girl has more clear scales than my hatchlings and in the first pic there is some orange/yellow on her belly near your thumbnail. Mine only show a little color right on their vent, 1 scale. Since I already have possible DH snow yearlings I posted my group. If they don't sell I'll keep them and see if my theory is right.

I had that happen in te dbl clutch of mine this year. The color was lacking in the yellows but seems to be coming in a little more after each shed.
