I am building a fake background (first one like this) out of styrophome covered in grout. What is good to use to seal the grout???

I used mod podge when I did my rock work for my first beardie. Stuff works great, just apply it in thin coats, otherwise it looks cloudy in certain places. If your rock work has stairs or other smooth surfaces take some sifted/washed playsand and apply it to those areas. When I first attempted this project, I didn't apply enough grout to the face of the rock work in certain areas. So I had to take it away from her for a bit and rework it. Make sure thr grout is thick and isn't maleable. You can do this by pressing with your finger in areas of concern. I did a couple of slurry coats, and thickened the grout for every other application until it was time for detailed carving. It left me with about 5/8"s- 3/4"s grout coverage on the whole piece, the only spot I did thicker was the bask, about 1". I attaced a few pictures to show you what it looks like. Hope this helps.

Interesting the mod podge. I see they have an outdoor one. Anyone have an opinion how this holds up to constant moisture as this will be going in a tree frog cage. Any other ideas or better options on sealants....
