An unusual picture request......

I am contemplating getting a JCP (my first) from a local reptile store next week. It is a nippy baby, and is rather dull in the coloration department, which I understand is normal for a baby. Coming from a retailer, I am sure it will not be as pretty as an adult as some of the ones I have seen on here. Does anyone have any pics of a very average or below average looking adults, so I can better decide if I want to grab this JCP locally, or get one from one of you reputable folks at a later time?
Oh, and it will only be my first JCP, not my first snake. I have 3.4 BP's, and 2 female BCI's, so I am not new to the serpent world.
Thanks,
Randy

I had my heart set on a flashy Jungle after seeing all the gorgeous pics on this forum. I turned down babies from 2 different breeders at a local show because they looked dull and I was afraid they'd grow up and not be nice yellow and black. Then I met "Bear", a 5 year old Jungle/Coastal cross. He actually didn't have a name when I met him, and I turned him down at first because he wasn't very flashy. But he had such a great personality I changed my mind and decided to go back and bring him home. I'm so glad I did. He might not be the flashiest of Carpet Pythons, but he's got a great personality and I've really come to appreciate his natural coloration. Part of my logic was that even the 'non flashy' snakes deserve nice homes, and when I watch Croc Hunter and they go out and find wild Carpets, they look so much like my "Bear". I think there is something to be said for more naturally colored snakes. They have a beauty of their own. If you really have your heart set on a brightly colored snake, and would be dissapointed with a more naturally colored one, I would recommend holding out and buying from one of the breeders here. But if you do go get that little baby, I'm sure it would be happy to be out of the store and in a nice home. Good luck with your decision! Here are pics of my "Bear". He isn't a pure Jungle, but will give you a feel for a more naturally colored, not so very flashy, adult Carpet.

Some links to some great carpet breeders. Here is a pic of my Matt Turner female. I would recommend paying the money, and getting a real nice one.

I'm really jealous of you. You have the opportunity to buy your very first jungle from any of the best breeders in the U.S. When I got my first jungles, I didn't know any better, so I just randomly picked some. I figured that because the babies were already showing some yellow, that they'd get pretty nice.

If only I had known. I now own quite a few jungles, but have only recently started buying quality hatchlings from top breeders. If you decide to settle for just an average jungle, I'm sure you won't be satisfied with how it turns out. Without a doubt, you should get one from Will Leary, Adam Willich, Matt Turner, etc. If you don't, I really think you'll be sorry.

I got a Coastal from a local pet shop. Great personality even if she is hell bent on choking her Dad to death every time I put her around my neck. I didn't know jack about Coastals when I got her, but I have tons of other herp experience... So far she is beautiful and a great kid to have... My next goal is a nice Jungle or maybe an IJC.... I value personality over looks, but when the opportunity arises I will take in anything I can get...after all who needs to eat? I'd rather feed my snakes and turtles
