pain in the butt.......

i recently got a ball python from a friend. hes had it about 3 week to a month or so and has not eaten on his own. now i have aquiered this "wonderful" snake feels rough to the touch and will not eat frozen or live. i have soaked him and rubbed him down with snake oil from nature zone, but nothing is working. is he doomed. please help what should i do?

They fell smooth. Are you sure its's a bp? If it feels rough it might have stuck shed all over it. Sometimes bp's just dont eat. Try again in a week or two. Also might want to take it to the vet to get it checked out for parasites and such...

im not sure on the parasit thing he got wormed with safeguard or "ferbenizol" what ever you like to call it

Maybe its skinny?When theyre skinny they have the loose skin that wont exactly be rough, but the folds from the loose skin will feel rougher i suppose?
