Good news, bad news, good news....

natsamjosh Aug 18, 2010 06:57 PM

Good news: Got a new snake!

Bad news: In order to get the new snake, I have to let go of Mendoza

Good news: Mendoza will be going to a good home that includes a female for him to have fun with, and hopefully they will produce some babies.

Good news: I might be able to produce some babies in a few years.

Here is my new male Jamaican boa (E. subflavus). He's not red/orange like my female, but arguably just as, if not more, good looking. I was really impressed when I saw him in person, and he looked pretty good in the pictures. Anyway, here he is, and if you have any suggestions for a name, feel free to post them.

Thanks,
Ed

Hey Ed,

That's a beautiful snake. It's a shame you had to let Mendoza go. I always enjoyed your pictures of him. Anyway, your new guy looks really cool. Best of luck with him.

Hey Paul,

Thanks! I might make the buyer promise to let me have one of Mendoza's offspring if she can get them to breed.

Thanks,
Ed

He is very pretty. As for a name, what I thought of as I looked at his pics is "Maize" (another name for corn) he reminds me of the multicolored speckled corn kernels you see in dried corn cobs. :0Ž

Thanks, looks like the corn theme might be the way to go. "Maize" is a good possibility. I was thinking maybe "Cornelius".

Thanks,
Ed

Yeah, it's tough, he's a great snake. Extremely low maintenance and easy to care for, but I couldn't resist giving him up for a Jamaican. But I will stay in touch with his new owner, that's for sure!
