HELP!!!!!!! My Gecko's just lost their virginity!

guadofreak Sep 24, 2003 09:04 PM

My g/f was keeping the boy and I was keeping the two girls.

They met for the first time tonight and sure enough he was READY to go!

Now what do I do. He was hooked up w/ one of the leo girls for about 20 seconds. Was that enough to knock her up?

I wanted them to have babies but not so quick!(not to mention I wanted him to impregnate my hypomelanistic one) However, from the looks of it I think he will impregnate both of them. hehehe

This is so exciting yetI don't know what to do. What should I start to get ready for???

Well, I would get a incubator ready !I personally have a homemade incubator, but Hovabators are also highly recommended ! If you decide to get a Hovabator, get the thermal air model because the turbo fan model wont let the temp in the incubator go below 95 degrees ! I would amke sure the female has a laying box, with vermerculite in it !

If you have any other questions just ask!

Nick

P.S. I like ure wording about him knockin the female geks up ! LOL

How much and where for a Hovabator. What did you do to make a homeade one?

Also what does a Laying box need to be like?

And above all How much time do I have before I can be for sure she is pregnant(gravid is it?)?

He keeps going after the other female I have in there but she keeps shutting him down hardcore! It is funny. She hissed at him. I guess she is being more of a lady and wants to know him for more than 5 minutes.

Thanx again for the help ~Eddie

Ummmm, most people I see with Hova-bators get them from LLL Reptiles. The laying box should consist of like a small tupperware, or butter container with a layer of vermuculite. Spray it every day to make sure it is moist ! My incubator is a Ice Chest with 4 bricks that hold up the butter containers that have the eggs in them ! I have about 4" of water with a heater in the bottom ! Go look at "My Pictures" in my signature to see it !

Hope I helped,
Nick

From what I have read they can lay 2 eggs at a time and they do that every 2/4 weeks depending on the age. they can lay up to 16 total sometimes but that is at their peak(around 4-5 years old I think)

Here are some websites I found last night
