There’s pro’s and con’s….
Flexwatt has more surface area which allows more air contact providing a more efficient method of heating. Wattage consumption is low, which is a plus. It doesn’t have a good bending radius, so if you want it to fit tight into corners…it’s not going to happen…unless you butt to pieces together. You have to wire it and seal the connecting points. Can be cut to any size (almost) to fit your requirements. Entire surface heats up.
Heat cable has great bending radius. Has a high wattage consumption which is not eco friendly. It comes already assembled to use. Cannot be cut or modified. Has set lengths, which could sometimes lead to too much or too less. It’s waterproof, however only about3/4 of the heat cable heats up.
I’m sure there’s much more difference between the two….you just need to figure out what you want, where you want to put it, and how much you want to spend.

>>So I am torn. It would cost me about the same for 5 feet of heat tape for my incubator (bottom and back) vs. a heat cable.
>>I was thinking of trying the heat cable. Do they work well in wine fridge incubators?
