Syspilia Or Hybrid Mess?

Sinaloan Aug 20, 2010 11:02 AM

Hi All,

I have friend who seems to think these are Syspilia, I'm not sure, Being in Scotland, These rarely show up, So I have nothing to go by. I know you guys know your stuff.

Personally, they don't match up with Syspilia I've seen in photos, but that's all I've seen. They seem like "Tri-Color Jungles" to me.

They appear to be either syspila or "temporalis". Any back-story on them that could help sort it out?

Nothing, Absolutly nothing mate. Apprently imported from the states, But I find it hard to believe for some reason. As the supplier doesn't often import.

I'll see what I can get our of her.

exactly what i thought!!!!!!......

looks like syspilia to me, the very, very few temporalis I've seen have all been red heads. Hard to say more than "it looks like syspilia" with no background though.

I'd just enjoy it, pretty little thing in any case.

Wow Scott,....

Those are sweet! man!. That is a very tough call for me to say either way with absolute certainty though. Every time I look at them it could easily go either way..LOL!

They are definitely one or the other, or "could" even be some of both too I guess, who really knows.

But I can tell you with 100% certainty that they ae NOT some silly-ass "jungle" type hybrids for SURE!.

Those are DEFINITELY some nice snakes Scott, and certainly aren't just a whacky "hodge-podge" composite of different things. That is for certain!!

If I had 1 guess I would say its a NJ Temporalis. I havent seen one with such a white belly before so there is a very good chance this would be a mixed locality but without any background its still a BIG beautiful milk!

JYohe Aug 21, 2010 02:28 PM

my 3 cents......St Mary's........Maryland.....

all red head almost is what mine have....color good...banding good.......could be generic Maryland...not Calvert by the banding shape......

I have Jersey ,Calvert and St Mary....and 4 locality reds...

I guess St Mary....LOL

I'd guess temporalis too.

JYohe Aug 21, 2010 07:24 PM

I looked at my female St Mary's...she has alot of white.....black cross bars at intervals throughout ,but definately.....alot of white.....

....still sticking with S.M. -Southern Md and yet not pure Calvert....

This is a broad generalization but I tend to think of syspila as having more black on the head, and coastals heads as having more red. The heads on those, to me, suggests temporalis.

Would those of you going with temporalis mind saying why you went that way? I already know some of JYohe's reason... the rather white belly did give me pause in going with syspila for a few brief moments but other than that it looks syspila to me.

Since more of you keep chiming in with temporalis though I wouldn't mind hearing just why you went that way.
