OT Individual Baby Photos

Paul_D Aug 20, 2010 04:20 PM

Cleopatra dropped her first litter of Dumerils Boas two days ago and I finally got around to taking individual pictures of the babies. I did my best to get the color accurate, but some of them were pretty squirmy and didn't feel like waiting for me to get the lighting just right. I know it's off topic, but I hope you all enjoy. The first two pictures for each baby are without flash, and the third is with flash.

They have such great eyes, and I love those blush spots they get. I once tried to talk an acquaintance *out* of getting a snake - she was the irresponsible type - and it was a Dumeril's boa she ended up with. I later heard that the first time the little thing snapped at her, she freaked out and wanted to get rid of it.. Sigh. I hope it found a better home; I never did know what happened to it.

I love Dumerils. They are beautiful animals and have great temperaments. I've only been nipped once in all the years I've been keeping them, and it was my own fault. I hope your acquaintance found a good home for her snake.

We lived in a small town in Georgia so resources were limited. I hope so too, and yes it was a beautiful animal.

I appreciate the nice comments. I can't wait to see how they develop after a couple sheds.
