Just a few pics from Daytona

FYI, if you've never tried, it's HARD to get good pics through acrylic. Often times, a little dust, a smudge, or a light reflection causes your camera to focus on the acrylic, and not what's behind it. So, these aren't the greatest. I culled several pics because they just weren't good enough.

A friend of mine expressed that it's disappointing to see vendors going backwards with regards to "showcasing" their animals by stuffing numerous animals into a small space, especially one that doesn't flatter them. And I agree completely. It's REALLY sad. It's even worse in person. There were some animals I wanted to take pics of, but their containers were so filthy that I knew my camera wouldn't focus on the animal at all. In fact, it looked like the containers had been used for YEARS and never cleaned.

Anyway, enough griping... lol. On to the pics (again, just a few)

Jeff Murray's table

got a little closer

An annulated with some crazy white spots

For you BCI guys - from Eugene Bessett's table

I'm really debating buying this male from Pete.

I highly doubt he'll ever breed, but I think he'd make a great display animal, and if he bred and reproduced that look, it could be awesome!

He's coming up on 3 years old, and is about the size of a yearling. He was a premie and was the only one of 3 in the litter that looked like that which survived.

Ben Siegel's table (the next 3 pics were taken out in the open, so they're much better)

Mr. Ronne's table
Key West boa

Mandarin boa

Tom Crutchfields table

don't remember who's table, and the last pic. Don't know what it is, but it looks cool

Hey Jon,
Great photos, especially the stuff off Jeff's table.

One thing, its not a Mandarin, its a Sangria boa. Looks like a Colombian version of teh blood boa. really stunning in the flesh.

Those sangrias are stunning! Since we're on the subject of Mandarins, I wanted to see some more mandarins. There were some in '08 and '09...hopefully next year. here's 1 I picked up in '08

Not to nit pick JB but it was Hermin Soler’s Table. I was only there to help Hermin and to show off a bit of course...

Jeff Ronne’s Key West Puppy

Hermin Soler’s Colombian Sangria Boa.

Hermin bought a group of really red baby Boas in a shipment of Colombian imports. Bred one pair of them together and made black eyed very highly red babies. These appear to me to be a Colombian Blood Boa. One litter of 15 babies and they look like versions of the animal above with those black eyes.

Thank you for taking all these pictures JB!

Last pic is from the genus Chameleolis. Commonly referred to as a Cuban false chameleon. They have independant eye movement and locomotion similar to old world chameleons. Really cool lizard that looks like a bearded anole but acts like an African chameleon. I especially like the scales on the lateral torso.

1st pic below: excited is with the nuchal crest up and dewlap out.
2nd pic: chill mode.
