Are they a good staple feeder for dragons?
I am just curious because they sound too good to be true.

Are they a good staple feeder for dragons?
I am just curious because they sound too good to be true.
They've been sold for years under the name Phoenix Worms. I don't think they're a very good feeder. They are small so a dragon would have to eat a whole lot of them to make a meal. I also found some dragons don't digest them well so they come out looking about the same as they went in.
I have used them in the past without any issue, however because they don't get very big, and are not that cheap, they are better suited for babies who don't seem inclined to eat crickets. I definitely don't think its feasible to feed them as a staple, but certainly are great to use to give variety to a dragon's insect diet.
They are very high in calcium, at least till the point they start to pupate. Once they do this, calcium gets used up in the 'shell' and the shell is hard to digest.
