Man I hate spiders and today again I went to pick up a piece of egg carton and this big old spider crawled on my hand. Thats twice now. Is this just always a problem or are there any cricket farms that gaurantee pest free crickets?

I never had any problems with spiders in with any large order of crickets I have made. Occasionally I will see larvae of various carrion beetles in with the crickets (often used to help clean up dead crickets) but as far as I can tell, neither degrade the value of the crickets themselves.

Hard to guarantee receiving shipments with no other bugs when buying feeders. You can get them in transit, from carrier vehichle, the shipper, you never really know.
One thing is for sure. Much more cost effective to purchase feeders online than trips to pet store if you have multiple lizards.
I used to work at a grocery store and somtimes the produce guys would find tropical spiders in banana boxes and such. Very cool looking ones, sometimes the size of a silver dollar.
