UTH is starting to worry me

yodaky Sep 24, 2003 10:02 PM

I have been monitoring the temperature in my tank with a digital thermometer directly on the paper towels of my tank. The UTH is "stuck" under the tank and the temp is currently 93F and this is at 10PM! I cant imagine what it will do during the day. Should I just use a 60W light bulb or what? Any suggestions are appreciated I hope I can still bring one home tomorrow

Is the UTH plugged into a Rheostat or thermostat? Most of my tanks use the ZooMed UTH's but i do have two tanks using ExoTerra ones. I was told i could just plug them in without a rheostat but i did anyways, and even when set to between low and medium, the temp is at 88-90 degrees. Having a thermostat is the best way to control the temps
