I use rep-cal pellets as an addition to my beadies diets. I know of 2 breeders that use them exclusively without problems. Protien should not cause a debate, at least with the rep-cal pellets. They contain just as much if not more protien by dry weight as crickets. If your beardies accept them and eat them regularly, it is all you need to feed them.
good luck

I feed Rep cal pellets. It is the ONLY brand that all of my dragons will eat.

My adults have a dish of dry pellets in their cages at all times and then they get a salad dish mid morning. The babies have their pellets moist on top of their salads.

I have had no problems and my dragons are showing a nice steady weight gain. I do feed a few mealies or supers 2 or 3 times per week in addition to their regular diet.

NO crix in this house anymore.... not even frozen ones LOL

On the other hand, there are dragons like mine that will NOT eat pellets. Not even if soak the pellets in her favorite juice to disguise the taste. And if I add pellets to the salad (weather soaked in juice or not) she'll ignore the salad and won't eat any of it. All though I think I'll try just leaving some dry one's in the tank to see what happens. If she doens't want them at least she can still eat her salad AND they won't go bad.

6 out of the 7 dragons I own eat their dry pellets in the morning before I give them their salad. I have also caught a couple of them having a pellet snack in the evenings after I have taken their "fresh foods" out of the cages.

I actually have one female that insists on eating ALL of her pellets before she will move on to eating the salad.
