coloring fruit fly media

princessmantisus Sep 24, 2003 11:15 PM

I have been using carolina fruit fly media... Would it be safe to add food coloring to the water so I can see the maggots? Maybe I'm just a creep, but I kind of like to watch them and also see how many there are. If it isn't safe, is there another media out there that is colored?
Thanks a bunch!!!

Put some spirulina in the medium. It's good for the flies, and will add a blue/green color.
