Could just be a nice Yellow Belly Lesser?
The mom does have the Fire look to her. Who knows.

The mom looks like a Pastel to me. Are her eyes two-toned like most Pastels? The daughter looks like a nice Pastel Lesser.

Doesn't look like a pastel to me.

I think you need to breed her again !
Try a fire or a yb (even if she doesn't have the belly of one I think).

She might just be normal with nice genes or have something new.
What was in the clutch with that lesser ?

I breed her to a Lesser Het Ivory... Honestly i was so busy with another company last year i didnt pay much attention... But there were lessers and het ivories, but nothing that resembled her... I think i just missed on more of her and the yb cross...

Ive had a Calico in with her this year, i think im gonna put in the Lesser Het Ivory again

That is definitely not a pastel. I think we need to hear from Ember. As I remember correctly the petstore female he picked up that started his line looked a lot like that. I would vote fire or something along the same allele. That lesser combo is hot.

Bolitochrome Aug 26, 2010 10:02 PM

Can either of you explain why it is definitely not a Pastel?

If it is a pastel, it's a really ugly one.

Does it have green eyes?

If you look at the second picture, you can obviously see it doesn't have green eyes. The belly pattern isn't like a pastel would be either. Not to mention, look at it. Have you ever looked at a pastel that even came close to resembling this snake? Look up pictures of adult fires, you will see it is way closer in comparison.

I have seen an adult female Pastel that strongly resembles the mother snake. I have also seen the Mojave offspring said female produced which were really bright with more subtle blushing than you normally see of a Pastave.

So my vote is still an Ugly Pastel. Maybe one that will produce Super Uglies, sure, but still my vote.

get some pics of the mother you are referring to so we can compare it to the snake in question.
