Daytona and my thoughts......

My thoughts....
Fwc was making things very tough for herpers this year. They wereayartijg to enforce laws that have never been before. I knew a couple of the officers and spoke to them about. It was coming from above and that's all they wanted to say. I believe that PETA and/or the government decided to meddle here because it Now seems that owning reptiles is politically incorrect especially with all the money that was getting passed around under the table. What a better place to start with a hammer fist then the biggest an best herp expo in the world or what used to be that is. I personally don't think I will vend again there after this. Hopefully things will change for the better.

My experience......
I will have to say getting there this year was tough for me. I ended up working fri and sat for someone because I told someone to go on vacation without thinking about the dates. I ended up with about 5 hours of sleep in 3 days to get there for the fun. I really wouldn't miss it for the world I just hope the debacle that Fwc put on doesn't chase anyone away.

I can't say that I could of hung out with better people than the ones I did. We had whoopie cushions, fart boxes, brownies rolled into fake poo and lots of drinks while we made plenty of people mad hehe! I have had a rough go of things here lately and these guys  made the living hell that's been my life for the past 5 years worth it! I've had injuries, friends and family stabbing me in the back, friends, family members, and a loved one passing away. Sometimes I wonder WTF is going on with me but I just take the punches as they roll in. I cannot say thank you to my friends enough for the time we had. At the end if the day we all just have some dang snakes in a tote but the moments that we keep are what's precious.

Warning......
Do not order the 22oz bone in ribeye at the steak in the hilton. I thught this steak would make this fat man happy but nope! I got a $45 piece of leather and oh son did it back me up. I felt like I pooped a brick two days later and thats a long time for me. I am pretty regular especially with the amount of coffee I drink. I will say a couple trips to taco bell and I'm flowing pretty good now. I need to find out how bp stopped their leak because I could use the same to save me on some britches. Maybe I should get a piece of that steak to plug it up? Idk but help is needed.

What exactly was Fwc telling vendors or what were they enforcing?

I heard that next year they will sart making people bring business licenses and list every animal on the table. If you did not produce it yourself you must provide the sellers name , address and their business license in order to sell the animal on your table.

Correct me if i am wrong but I heard this was a heads up warning to vendors from Fwc to what it will be like next year.

It's an old rule that was just never pushed until now. I was told that the powers from above were making them do it. It was a warning for next year and they want info on where your breeders came from, number of eggs in each clutch good and bad, lay dates, hatch dates, and complete inventory. Also this one really puzzles me. If while at the show you purchase a reptile and you're a vendor, they want a receipt with the persons liscence number on it. You can walk around all day as a consumer buying stuff and not get hassled but as you will be hassled and you will be ticketed. Moral of the story, don't vend at daytona.

I will say it was not only a warning to vendors at daytona but across the country, we are gonna hassle you into submission. You shouldn't have reptiles and we don't want you too. I would say PETA has a strong arm in this. Let just hope not and see what happens.
