Buying Corns

DanW Sep 25, 2003 12:23 AM

I am considering buying more corns. Can I still find nice ones now or is it better to order early and get high on breeder lists? Is it easy to tell which corns of a litter are going to turn out nicest? Also how variable in appearance are adult butter corns?

Thanks,
Dan

There are plenty of corns still for sale. Some that are just now hatching most will have second clutches soon. I have found it is better though if you prepay for a specific snake you want out of the following years clutches. If this is done I usually give them the best of what I am selling, but thats me, not sure about everyone else. As far a butters they do vary, but not as much as other morphs of corns. They vary mainly in the intensity of the yellow. They range from a yellow snow to a carmel color yellow. Your best bet is to buy from a good breeder (ie cathy, don, rich or myself(lol)) or go to a show and hand pick, but just because a baby looks good you still don't know what the adult will look like. It's kinda just luck.

just picked up a fully striped butter motley earlier this month at a show.
some breeders pruduce so many corns that they would still have some that only them and thier staff have seen. Many goods ones still left.
