I have four leos, and all of them pick the easiest spots for me to clean as their bathrooms. The two leos in my 20L poop under and over the side of the half log in the corner (so it's well hidden), and it's very easy to spot clean with the paper towel. And my other two poop on top of their humid hides so I can just take it out for a rinse.

You have very considerate geckos hehehe. My Boo poops in an easy spot for me to clean but i have to make sure the papertowels are up the side of the glass cause he gets a leg up on it and ends up pooping on the glass. Lily is still pooping Everywhere....i'm not sure what to do about her hehe. The rest are pooping in spots i can get to, just not on the papertowels.

My biggest difficulty is getting to the tanks. All but two require me to get on a step stool. I'm building a unit to hold 5 tanks and hopefully it'll be easier to get to. Also i'm hoping to have the shelves that the tanks sit on, pull out but as if now i'm debating whether rollers on each side would support the weight.

For cleaning purposes it would be much better for me if i had enough room to put each tank on a stand, one beside the other along one wall of a room. *gets down on knees* please oh great spirits, let me get enough money to buy my own house hehehe.

Oh.......how much poop is normal in one day? I cleaned out the cages yesterday and already, one gecko has 4 poops! Typically i clean every other day but lately its been a daily task.

Gosh, that does sound like a lot of trouble. And you have to be careful none of the poop or the poop dust drops on you while you're removing the paper towels. :x

My dresser is long enough to fit my 20L and 10 gallon tank. My newest tank went in the living room coffee table. And I just informed my brother that he's got to clear everything off of his dresser so I can start moving my tanks in there, too. lol

That does sound like a lot of poop for one leo, but aren't you the one who feeds your leos two or three times a day? There was somebody on the forums, but I forgot who it was.

Its not that bad really.......its just a good thing i don't mind heights hehehe.

I would spread out the tanks around the house if i could, i doubt my family would mind, but my dad has most of the house spoken for. He's breeding guppies and so far we have so many that we've had to buy 3 more tanks, plus he took one of MY fish tanks.

Yes i'm the one that feeds my guys more than once a day. Its just that they eat so much i don't want them to start getting sick. A few of them (Zoe, Abby, Boo, and Nala) are big compared to Lily, Dot and Bronx so i'm going to try feeding them more food once a day and see if they keep coming out to their dishes. As for the others, they are still tiny and eating like pigs (minus Bronx, he doesn't eat as much as the others) so they will get fed more than once.

I will have pics of all but Zoe on Saturday. Boo when i bought him was about Abby's size and now he's huge. That was only 2 months ago (seems like longer but i checked my calender).

As for getting poop on me, i either wear gloves (a different set between each tank) or i go and wash between cleaning tanks. The gloves are easier hehehe.

P.S. my brother has my old desk and it could easily fit two 20 gallon tanks hehehe, now i just have to convince him to put them there lol

It really depends on how much and what they eat. Mine are usually about 3/4" long, but they're full grown. They kind of poop and pee at the same time, so you also get a little puddle around the poop.

I don't know anybody who worries about the size of the poop. But just like all poop, it will stink pretty bad if you leave it lying around all day, especially if your tank is small and doesn't get much ventilation. It's not like you can smell it across the room (unless you have a sick leo or you take poor care of the cleaning), but you'll get a whiff of it when you take the lid off the cage. And you can bet that it's not very hygienic for your leo. So yeah, take the poop out everyday.

oh yah, i was planning to clean it every time i see poop i wouldn't want him to hang around his mess too long. and thanks for bringing up smell, i was wondering about that! b/c the hamsters i used to have last year smelled bad after about 2 days! so i always cleaned and even had the outside fragrance thing to make the living room smell better...and they used to pee near the running wheel so when they ran, it'd wheel up some of the pee on the wall N i had 2 clean that too thanks for the info!! by the way, i like ur pic & the "chickabowow" - i was laughin for a long time after i read that!

Thanks, that's my dog. I just got her this summer.

I've had hamsters too before, so I know what you're talking about. I think they smell worse, because those little wood chips collect a lot of moisture if you're not cleaning it up every couple of days.

My leos don't smell at all, but they used to when I kept them on sand. You can only scoop out the solid poop, but the liquid urates just seep down to the bottom and stay there until you replace all of the sand. There were also poop flakes and cricket limbs getting mixed in there too.

your dog is cute! i should take a recent one of mine & put it up sometime...

i'm glad to hear that the lizard doesn't smell as bad as the hamsters do you said the leos used to smell when you had sand because it seeped through... but how do you clean the lizard poop now? would it be hard with astro turf b/c you have to take it out everyday and wash/wipe it off? or replace the paper towel everyday by taking out all the terrarium decorations? i just thought it'd be easier to just scoop out the sand, toss the poopies, and replace the sand...and just do that everytime i notice poops. now i'm thinkin hard about it..hehe - how do you do it?

thanks!

Well, they always poop in the same corner. So what I do is just put an extra layer of paper towels in that corner and remove that everyday instead of replacing all the paper towels. It's very convenient.

Yes, I'd love to see pics of your dog.
