That thing is simply UNREAL!!

Dang man!,...those things are just incredible to be quite honest!

Those parents you paired up to produce those sure hit a bizarre combination there....congratulations on those!

Haha thanks Doug, best money I've spent in a long time I'd say. What morphs do I cross these into now? Curious to see what an amel would look like.. Or ghost perhaps... Is an almost pure white ghost feasible?

Yeah, I'd say you did well there!..LOL!

Yeah, That would go well with any trait combination really.

Yes, you could possibly develope insane V/P ghosts that had little to no dark pattern.

Very nice future potential there bro!, whatever you add it to!

That is super nice.

Did he survive? He looks like he was cut out of the egg early.. just something about the shape of his head and the curve in his neck.

I hope I am wrong .. because it looks fantastic

no he did not survive. i cut the egg yesterday and when he came out did fine for a few hours and then died. such a bummer.... they were the only two viable eggs i got out of the parents. there's always next year though. this was the first season that i've ever tried breeding snakes and it has been plagued with mistakes and misfortune. however, i'm stepping up my game and next season cant get here fast enough. too many disappointments really spur a need to change. ill keep everyone up to date with the other clutch mate and fingers crossed there will be plenty of good eggs next year and more surprises to come. thanks to everyone for your comments and help especially doug mong and wayne sanders who has been a huge help and has some awesome advice and killer snakes.

I know you are heartsick. That little guy was really something special. But you now have something to really look forward to next year. So sorry it didn't make it.

thanks for the sentiment but i suppose its all part of the learning curve. as for next year, i have amassed quite a starter collection of hondurans a few cali kings (the first w/c snake i ever kept and became enamored with their personality)and i found a mate for my burmese python. so the upcoming season should be a good one. fingers crossed and wish me luck!

Beware what you wish for. I found out this year that taking care of 70 baby snakes is HARD work! They are always hungry and they all poop in their water dishes!

I had that feeling, like I said it's head didn't look quite right. Two seasons ago I tried to cut a window into a few eggs because I wasn't sure if they were still good. The snake inside looked white. I though struck gold with a pure white hondo. Well come to find out the coloration comes in late in the incubation. While that snake may have loooked outragous if it came to full term it more then likely would have had some more color in it.

Too bad... I know it sucks. Consider it a sad lesson learned. I swore I would never cut into an egg again.

skincity702 Aug 28, 2010 10:18 PM

well the good news is his clutch mate has very similar coloration and pattern so i'm pretty sure it isnt that he came out too early. ill post better pics when i get the chance
~JT

skincity702 Aug 28, 2010 10:39 PM

im pretty sure his coloration had nothing to do with him coming out of the egg early.

Sorry. I know that breaks your heart. So close yet so far away!

can you post a pic of parents?

thanks tim

skincity702 Aug 29, 2010 05:00 PM

here are pics of the parents. pretty standard tangerine and hypo vp except the male has some pretty cool markers and i have on good authority some pretty special genetics that im going to wait to prove out before making any claims

male

female

snakecellar Aug 29, 2010 06:48 PM

The male is a Marc Bailey abberant from his striped line. He is a clutchmate to some fully striped animals. So he has extremely good genetics and is possible het hypo because his brother proved out to be het hypo. It makes sense because the abberant line originally came from the Loves Tangerine Dream line where the hypo gene first poped up in. Marc Bailey is the lucky guy that the abberant gene poped out on and has since worked it nicely for a number of years now.
