Hi all,
I've been sorting through all of my pictures of late getting ready to move to a new job and have come across a number of medical chelonian shots/stories. A number of these are now accessible with their accompanying stories via the home page of the World Chelonian Trust.
Amongst these pictures was an elongated tortoise I picked up a few years ago that suffered from severe skin loss/scale loss due to hypervitaminosis A. One of the most common "diagnoses" for turtles and tortoises with puffy eyes is a lack of vitamin And unfortunately this animal received a massive overdose.
Anyway, if you're interested in what "too much of a good thing" can do to your animals or the other assorted "medical pictures" (warning- some of these are NOT for kids, especially the ear surgery in the box turtle shots, so please check them for suitability before they see them), check out the attached picture and link.
