PERUVIAN RAINBOW BOA LITTER

Jeff Clark Aug 29, 2010 02:07 PM

Another weekend, another Peruvian Rainbow Boa litter. The last two weekends I was in Florida and missed the birth of a Peruvian litter each weekend. This weekend I was home and ready. I knew this litter was about ready to be delivered and I got up at 5 to check on them. Little Rich Girl laid this litter just before I checked on her. Most of the litter were inside the sacs when I found them. By the time I got cages ready for them and started taking pictures most of them were out of the sacs and crawling around bothering mom. Little Rich Girl was bred by Zolan. It has been a few days over six months since I last saw them mating. I have kept temperatures a little lower this year trying to be patient waiting on the resulting longer gestations. So far it has been successful with good live babies and few slugs and no stillborns in the litters. All of my Peruvian litters this year have been from 4 and 5 year old females that were intentionally grown slowly. This litter is 13 live healthy babies and no slugs or stillborns. The babies in this litter are less dark and less intensley marked than the Valerie litter born two weeks ago but not as colorful and darker thicker marked than the Amy litter born last weekend.
