Pic Request for Non-babies...

FL_Herps Aug 30, 2010 11:52 AM

I have been looking a lot lately for pictures of certain kingsnake morphs and cannot seem to find pictures of anything other than hatchlings/babies.

If anyone has pics or a link to pics of any of the following morphs in older animals (preferably adults but anything is better than babies), I would GREATLY appreciate it!

Here's what I'm looking for:

White-sided Brooks
White-sided Axanthic Brooks
Axanthic Brooks
Hypo White-sided Brooks
Ghost Brooks (Hypo Axanthic)
Ghost White-sided Brooks

AND... White-walled Speckled King

Also, I would like to see pics of whatever you think is currently the purest white brooks king morph(s) as well as whatever you think is currently the best looking brooks king morph(s).

Thanks very much in advance for any pics or links!

Take care,

Alex Pepper

I love all the many Morphs of the Brooks King snake, and own a few but my favorite is still a good looking high Yellow Normal Brooks! I just got these from Mike Russo. Thank you Mike, I love them!

Here is my Ghost male, and hypo het Axantic female by the way!

That Ghost male is just far to tricked out to be a regular ghost. I don't beleive it is a hypo x axanthic. It may be a Peanut butter x axanthic.

Whatever it is, I am making a compliment. That thing is smokin!

Yeah I would like to see the Axanthics that were used for this guy. I couldn't get too much info on them except that they are doug Beard's line. I think he looks a bit like Zenny's.

If we're gonna discuss best looking, my personal favorite is a good bright sulfur lavender. Gorgeous colors on those things!

He's just a normal Sulfur from Brandon Osborn.

Does he have a website? That thing is super nice!

Brandon Osborn (he posted below) He may have some this year? His Buddy Clint at Bartley reptiles can maybe help you?

We all have different tastes. The regular Sulfur floats my boat more than the Super Sulfur packages! LOL!

DMong has some awesome Hillsborough countys that are very similar. Vibrant normal high yellow/normal blotches. Line bred rather than recessive?

Those Brooks and Scott Koonts' Montgomery County N.C. Easterns are my Favorite Common Kings.

Then there are these Guys LOL.

Aint this a cool hobby?

a153fish Sep 02, 2010 05:18 PM

Yeah the ones Doug has are excellent! I don't think they are Tampa Kings tough, are they? That yellow Speckled is beautiful too Bob. Man you got good taste, lol.

Thanks Fish, I'm purposely not keeping many these days, trying to be selective. Good for you on the Nice yellow ones from DMong. I think you'll be very happy with them. I'm mostly content with the animals I have now ( contentment in this hobby is fleeting for me LOL. ) I've been talking to Billy/DISCERN about maybe going for those beautiful Hypo Stillwater Bullsnakes even though I'm not a morph guy LOL. Must...have...self..control....

Yeah, but show us what the **adults** look like! There are soooo many wonderful looking king BABIES -- but they change so much as they grow, I never know what I'd end up with a coupla years down the road!

The 2nd request was for what we think are the best looking morphs currently available... If you work with Floridana you kinda know what they'll turn out like as adults so i displayed animals i know will turn out above average... Floridana have been out for a long time... but there are lots of new mutations and a lot more to go... Adult snakes will be hard to find... some of these

Adult Flame

Adult Lavender Flame Male (female pictured in previous ad)

... EXTREME Flame Stuff is **NEW** I dont have many adults (the "Extreme Flame" Male is a sub adult and that red/orange isn't fading)... Maybe Karl will post his Agosta line Extreme Hypo-Flame

Hi White Anerys are **NEW** ... but they can only get better and i'm impressed with the yearlings as is

Here's the Sire of my High whites: he's cream colored... mine are whiter!

Adult F1 Jelly x Spotted Sulphur line Lavender (The Jelly pictured before is very different than this one)

Adult F1 Jelly x Flame hypo

Sulphur pictured is an adult; here's another pic

Sulphur Snow is an Adult as well...

The "Pink Pearl" Snow is the 1st i've held back (Ricks Line) ... No adult pix, she's very blue though, lil different than other "Pink Pearl" Snows i've seen

Adult "Hybinos"

amazondoc Aug 31, 2010 01:37 PM

Beautiful pics, thanks!

I'm a sucker for bright colors -- so I think I'll go with the sulfur lavender, flame lavender, and hybino. Now if I can just win the lottery.....

Your brooksi are outstanding!

On the West coast we are lucky just to see hypos, and I mean the regular washed-out hardly-any-color ones. Are there just a couple of breeders with all these brilliantly-colored morphs? Are they so new that they are not available yet?

ZFelicien Aug 31, 2010 04:43 PM

1st let me say Thank you!

Are there just a couple of breeders with all these brilliantly-colored morphs?

Actually (strangely) yes!? Breeding Hypos for hi-red too some time but not THAT long... I think most people that breed today are just happy to get the morph, but have no interest in improving a morph once it's been produced.

Others things are pretty "New" and probably wont be available in #'s for a year or two (maybe more depending on the morph)

Are they so new that they are not available yet?

Some morphs are that "New" (Agosta/Fengya Flame line stuff, High White Anerys, "Hybinos," "peabinos," and lots of other morphs.)

Some morphs haven't gotten into the right hands as yet

Some projects just haven't taken off as yet

i think it's just a matter of time
