question about leucistics

july08_2003 Aug 30, 2010 09:27 PM

Just talked to someone who paired 2 beautiful near all white 100% marketed leucistics. He told me that out of that pair that produced over 100 eggs not 1 came out all white like either of their parents. My question is, to anybody who has paired leucistics before, what is the number of most near all white dragons you have produced and out of how many eggs from the pair. thanks, Jay.

Well, a Marketed Luc. is simply a line bred hypo. Which simply means they are hypo pastels with all the pattern and color bred out of them. I have personally bred lucy's in the past with great success. Many turned out to be nice solid white adults. But something to remember! Although they are from 2 white parents many will hatch out with some good amounts of color. There patternless solid white comes with time (many sheds and with good size). It all depends as well what line(s) your friend is working with.

Hey Amy, thanks for the reply. i am interested in breeding 2 leucistics with the hopes of producing all white babies. so how would you know which dragons can produce the best offspring? would you go on appearance? or the dragon with the most leucistics in his or her bloodline? thanks.
