I'm stumped...

SwansonsSerpents Aug 30, 2010 09:45 PM

Hi all,
So here's the deal. I hatched out this little female today. She was from a pastel to pastel breeding. I had four eggs but two went bad. She crawled out today and I need your opinions. Is she a super pastel? She looks like it to me, but not what I would call an amazing super pastel. The reason I am confused is that most of my regular pastels that come out look almost this good. I have three pics. The first two are of the female in question and the third is a pastel I produced last year to give you an idea of what my normal pastels look like and why I'm confused. I appreciate any thoughts/opinions.

I can see what you mean by the way the head looks but to me I would expect to see alot more intense blushing than that running down the back .. Without the heavy stonwashing I'd say it's just an above average Pastel. If the parents are WAY below average (meaning almost as brown as normals with next to no blushing or side blushing) then I guess this could be a Super but I still highly doubt it would be that dark on it's back if it were one..

That's what I figured. Her parents are both above average pastels though. Well, I have one more shot at it. Thanks for the thought. I appreciate it.

I believe that is a pastel too. I have a pastel het for OG that I will take a pic of and post tomorrow. It looks really similar to this pastel here. The head has that same washed out look. It is still a very gorgeous BP.

I think it's a regular pastel (nice one)...I just hatched 5 pastels and 3 normals from a Pastel x Normal breeding and all the pastels look like that; one has a very light head, but there is no chance it's a super since the parents are pastel and normal.
Will post pics of the babies soon
