First Albino Hondos

mfoux Aug 31, 2010 03:30 PM

My first albino Hondos are hatching. The first one out is a nice tangerine and I see another nose poking out of a nearby egg. The parents are hets I got from Tom Stevens. This is the first clutch for this particular female, who is only two years old but already 4ft/400 grams. So far it looks like 6 of the 7 eggs are good.

Very nice!! I am sure you are stoked. I know I would be if I hatched out some albino hondos!! Waiting for my pair of hypos to get old enough. And to hell with some folks feeling the hondo market is dried up and not worth the effort. That hatchling is gorgeous regardless of current market value and well worth the effort on your part to reproduce!!

Thanks Kevin. And yeah, Hondos are sweet no matter what.

Thanks Tom. That trio is really starting to come through for me.
This one also popped out today. Look how light! I know it's pre-shed and all, but none of the sibs were even close to this light.
And remember, these were only possible het for hypo.
