Thick vs Thin Saddles on BCC

kitchi Aug 31, 2010 06:11 PM

Here are siblings on day 10 after they shed on day 9. The females are on the left and the males on the right. I think these would be great future pairings if soemone is interested in selective breeding. I do not know which pair I like best and which to keep but the others will be posted on KS classifieds very soon.

They both are nice but i just love the enhanced peaks on the bottom pair, great job mike.

Thanks, here are some peaks. My goal on this breeding had nothing to do with peaks. It was a roll of the dice for peaks. Some of the original Cypress Creek 2002 babies had thin saddles despite the Dad having very wide saddles but several had big peaks (mostly all with big peaks were females). I have only seen two specimens from the Marzec line I bred into these and both had wide saddles, one with good peaks(my old male) and his sister with small peaks. I know these photos are the worst ever but its all I have been able to take since they shed.

WHAT YOU don't know can't hurt you, or so we're told. Well, last week I didn't know that a wasp had crawled into my slipper, and it hurt me a great deal. Once again, the so-called experts get it wrong.
