nickmetherd Sep 01, 2010 11:36 AM

VPI? Jolliff? Sutherland? NERD?

Which line is the cleanest black and white animal as a neonate?

I"ve heard the best about VPI's. I've been told that a lot of Axanthics look very similar to normals when they are adults, and VPI holds the color the best.

jollif`s imo are barley axanthic`s at all in my book but vpi`s are the best but in the end and there adults all 3 strains are just brown ball pythons!

I've never personally worked with any Axanthics, but from whats ive heard, and seen, they all Brown out with age, and all look great as neonates.

Jolliff axanthics are silver/black. They hold the color for a few sheds and then start browning out.

here is a jolliff axanthic fresh out of the egg from our snow clutch this year...

and here is the same snake after a few sheds...

vpi has a new line called the "black axanthic" that supposedly does not brown out with age.
the animals look much darker and cleaner.

vpi has none listed on their site but if someone wanted to see one they could do a search their and a few things pop up. they will be crazy when paired with other mutations. they truly are an awesome morph.

My opinion on the axanthics. It is no secret that axanthics hatch out looking awesome. The they hit those teenage years where the look as some say "brown out" but then as adults they clean back up and look good. But they never look like they do out of the egg. Not one morph does. The snows do the same thing. Hatch out great look creamy as teenagers then go white as adults well at least ours do.

We have another line Colette as developed from ours called the Charcoal Axanthics. The adults are near all black. Our line throws both types out so if you have the TSK line you will see them in your clutches. In the begining everyone wanted the lightest ones so we kept back the dark ones and that is where they came from. They are awesome and we hope to be putting those out there in the future.

But here is the axanthic Bee.

To keep the silver color you have to have the True Ghost. This snake is really amazing.

Any ways axathics seem to be popular and the more people work with them the more cool things we will see.

We have both VPI and TSK lines. We produced tsk axanthic spiders this year. All the babies are not black and white they are silver blue color. If you want black and white you need to add pastel to it. The VPI male I have is a 4 year old and still silver. We have 2 female TSKs about a year old and they are also very nice. Our spider axanthics we produced this year are very nice silver white and black.I have a third line as well RMJ...They get very dark as they age. Not brown more black and dark. This is a pic of the RMJ axanthic as a baby.
