Corn snake pics

McCarthyBoas Sep 01, 2010 12:25 PM

My son's cornsnake collection is getting bigger. Here are some pictures of what he has so far.

Female albino named Sunshine.

Male hypo name Rusty. This guy was give to us and I was told he is a Hypo.

Wild caught female named Scarlet.

Male striped sunglow named Blaze.

I got these two for my son for helping me with a side job I did a few weeks ago. So I surprised him with these two females on Monday when he got home from school.

This one is a pastel motley named Oreo.

This one is a butter striped motley female named Butterscotch.

Take care
Tom

That's quite a nice collection. That hypo probably really is a hypo, but if you posted a pic of its belly scales, then someone could give you a more definate ID. That first albino has some great color and I dig "oreo" too.

I've seen two of your articles in Reptiles, both of which were excellent, are there more?
is that one of the Dekalb babies?

Jimmy,

That's the female I got from you. Both have shed once since arriving here and are eating every three days (except when in a shed cycle).

As far as "REPTILES" Magazine, you have a lot of reading to do.

But first, check out my mug in the October 2010 "Herp Happenings."

Also, I have an article on Northern Pine Snakes in the 2010 "Reptiles USA."

As far as articles in the magazine, they are:

April 2006 - "Hitting the Herp Jackpot" Herping Las Vegas
June 2006 - "How to Make an In-ground Turtle Pen"
July 2007 - "Black Magic" Black Pine Snakes
October 2007 - "Desert Oasis" Amphibians in the Las Vegas Area
January 2008 - "Tight Trip" Herping Carter Caves (KY)
March 2008 - "Spring Peeper Serenade" Ohio's Springtime Amphibian Migration
June 2008 - "On the Fringes" Herping Mojave National Preserve
September 2008 - "Herping at Lunch" Northeast Ohio Herping
December 2008 - "Redwood Rendezvous" Herping Big Basin (CA)
February 2009 - "Chorus Frog Quest" Ohio Amphibian Hunting
February 2010 - "Black Russian" Russian Rat Snakes
May 2010 - "Familiar Favorite" Keeping & Breeding Eastern Garter Snakes
August 2010 - "10 Ways to Get Your Colubrid to Eat Well"

That's it.

I may have some of the older ones. I'll have to dig them up and look for your articles Tim. I haven't gotten any mags in a long time. I've been meaning to get the latest Reptile USA mag cause there's some pics of one of Dougs snake in there. Just haven't gotten to the store. There's no pet shops here in my town and the nearest one that might have any reptile mags is a good 30 minute drive at least. I've got almost all of the Vivariums. That was an excellent magazine. Anyway I'm rambling.....

They're all great! I think your sunglow is "just" a motley however. Definitely not a stripe pattern going on there. Not even cubed or sunspot.
