i've been wondering the same thing, but haven't found any information online about this line of hondurans.

they look like vanish with little tipping to me but there must be something else.

I read they were taken to europe some time ago but thats all I remember about the article. I'm sure that Doug (D Mong) would know more

Well, I think all anyone can really say about those is that his European line were very noted for being very clean, vivid and contrasty compared to many other tricolors, especially years ago.

In my opinion it is virtually impossible to distinguish his line from some of the others now by just looks alone, as there have been an aweful lot of folks with different combinations breeding these for a good while now. There is all sorts of outbred stuff now days, some not so colorful and vivid, and some absolutely stunning!

But I will also say that if one sees a VERY, VERY clean white ringed tricolor hypo specimen, there is a very good chance it did indeed originate from his European line. It just all depends on a lot of things.

I know Jaap Kooij in person, and I was there when he established this particular line of Hondurans. Extremely nice animals IMHO, but not distinctively discernable from others. Yes, the colors generally are exceptionally clean and vivid, but also, adult size generally is way above average. Unfortunately, he stopped breeding Hondurans some years ago, and most of his stock was shipped overseas. So the future of this Jaap Kooij line depends largely on what you Americans make of it.

I know,...doesn't look very promising, does it??..LOL!!

Had to add a little humor there Herman. Unfortunately as you already know all too well, it seems many breeders here could easily ruin a bulldozer with a baseball bat too.

Well Herman, at least for the time being there are still a fair amount of his line still being perpetuated.
