I think that is a subspecies of plurivalenta but I don't know the common name...at the end of november some of this snakes arrive at an important italian importer...I very like boiga (I have a fantastic dendrophila) and I want to buy this snake to but I don't have any information..if you can help me please.
Thanks so much,
Ramon.

P.S. the importation of this snakes cames from Angola.

Ok..the genus for these Boiga (african)is in the process of possible change to Toxidryas. I could not find a ssp. (toxidryas), but did find pulverulenta; aka Powdered Tree snake. They are described as an middle to high altitude forest and woodland snake and Nocturnal! Like to hide in hollow logs during the day. Max size 1.2m. Eats rodents and lizards. Care should be taken in handling large specimens because of possible envenomation, Kinda cute lookin' so good luck!

Toxicodryas is a genus name synonymous with Boiga, as I recall. I believe it is in more common use in Europe than in the U.S.

Specifically its used for the African species (blandingii and pulverulenta) since they do have some slight differences from the Australasian Boiga. The validity is pretty shakey though and Boiga is typically used for all forms, whether African or Asian.

If the snake in question is well over a meter, then its almost certainly Boiga blandingii (they get over three!). If its less than a meter and has pink flower like markings on the side, then its most likely Boiga pulverulenta.

Posting a picture would allow for definitive ID

Cheers
