That 18.5 feet record came from a specimen measured in Trinidad by Colin Pittendrigh in 1944. It was later verified that this specimen was actually an anaconda. Record size Bcc appear to come from an area around northeast Peru and southern Colombia. There is no actual one specimen representing the record size for this species, however the record is probably somewhere between 14 and 15 feet.

I remember seeing a boa at a flee market when I was around 10. It had to be 14' and much fatter than a 2 liter bottle. Biggest boa I have ever seen. Probably over fed. He wanted $400 for the boa and cage, but for some reason my mother would not buy it for me!!

I had a female Columbian boa back in the 80's that was almost 11 feet long and probably 70+ pounds. She had 39 babies for me and then died suddenly about a month later. I obtained her as an adult and had her for two years. I have no idea how old she was but I would guess she was possibly 20 years old when she died. Her head was enormous so she was not a power fed animal.

I saw a show on Discovery probably close to 20 years ago and it stuck in my mind. They filmed a big boa coming up out of the canal, and it was huge it just kept coming and coming. I was figuring it somewhere around 15'. I don't remember what country they were filming in but they the boa was very light colored and had nice reds on it.

yeah 18' seems way too large. I agree with the others that the largest I have heard of was a Peruvian and I believe it was 11ft or just a little larger?

I have a 21 yr old Colombian boa, she's about 8.5'
