Sudden Kink in Back of Baby

livinginvestment Sep 05, 2010 01:20 PM

As it says...a kink appeared out of nowhere in the back of one of my babies. She was fine yesterday when I checked her cage and removed a refused pinky. What could have caused this? Genetics? Lack of vitamins? Has this happened to anyone else? The others are fine.

Thanks,

Kenny

I haven't had that happen with hogs but had a proven Prairie King that all of a sudden get an s pattern up and down its spine. You could straighten him out but as soon as you put him down he would go right back to an s pattern. He was refusing meals so unfortunately I had to put him in the freezer.

Thanks for sharing. I've come to accept the fact that it will need to be put down I'll wait a week or so...

Cage decore? Heavy water dish??? Lack of vitamins and calcium would take a while to show signs and the begining signs would not be as bad as a spinal kink... Sounds like there could be a spinal separation or break...

I am no vet but that is my opinion...
