Typically I see females staying put for weeks before giving birth, only occasionally coming out of the moss hide to get a drink or soak. Waxy stool is typically followed by a couple of days of noticeable increase in movement, out of the hide, in the water bowl, in a corner, back in the hide etc. etc. "restless behavior"
Once I see them moving around like that, I'm watching even closer for babies. More often than not my first indication of babies is a skinny mom outside the hide.
