YANGTZE EVENING POST (China) 02 September 10 Fake snake alarm
A fire truck and three firefighters in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province were dispatched on Saturday evening to remove a "bright colored, likely poisonous snake" from a taxi's trunk, only to find that it was a rubber toy.
The unidentified taxi driver called them after opening the truck, moving some luggage and seeing what he first thought was a large worm.
"But when I looked at it carefully, it was a snake." He quickly slammed the trunk shut and phoned the firefighter command center about his find.
They cautiously opened the trunk and tried to first frighten it out by shouting and banging the trunk door.
When nothing happened one firefighter cautiously moved a piece of luggage to reveal the motionless reptile, which upon closer inspection proved to be a toy.
