Does anyone know of anerys? Any pix? History? I've seen the hypoerythristics..
I ask because I saw an ad for a male 100% het/anery...
What's the scoop?

Mark,
Tom Agosta has an Anery female....I will send you a picture of it when I get back to my home computer......it hatched out normal looking and was Hypoerythristic most of her life but has now lost all red pigment in her saddles.

These all came from some Valle de los Fantasmas specimens that Bob Applegate acquired then later sold off......

There are only a few folks working with these.....

I have 2.2 from that line.....1.1 are hypoerythristic now and hatched out with red saddles......I am thinking the male will eventually lose all the red and be anery later in life.....

It is an interesting ontegenesis.....just as a black phase darkens with age these Hypo-Es keep losing their red....I would like to see a single snake do both at the same time though.....A normal hatchling that ends up black with salmon saddles or no saddles at all eventually......

BUT....to be het for anery is impossible with these mex mex in my opinion.....

Breeding a Hypo-E to a Hypo-E does not produce all Hypo-Es.....I was told......Just as an ultra granite X ultra granite doesn't produce all ultra granites.......

That one you pictured is very nice.....

What ever happened to the almost white ones Mitch Allen had years back? Do you still have any from that line?

No I never got any from Mitch....he usually grabs a few from me at Daytona but it was kinda slow this year I guess...
I heard they "grayed up" a good bit as they aged...

I wondered if they grayed up any or stayed white....

I have a picture of one of yours I saved from a while back.
It is real light and somewhat granite.....a male I believe
Do you still have that one?

I found what was a true anery mex mex on a table at white plains about 4 years ago but the baby didnt make it. It was the only one of its kind and I really dont think the guy knew what he had(Don Hamper I think). Never saw another one like it, it definately was nothing like the hypo e's. Pics in my old computer that got thirsty one night....sorry.

One thing I have learned at shows is that if you manage to find something underpriced or rare you dont say "excuse me, is this a ANERY mex mex for only $40??". You pay the woman and run quickly before her husband comes back from taking a leak! Too bad it was a non-feeder, also too bad the guy really didnt know what he had...

Did it look anything like the one I posted right above your post?
