Market Value of Leucistic Boa? (Hypothetical Question)

Lorddreyfus May 26, 2003 10:13 AM

My wife is taking a marketing class for her masters. She has to come up with something "new" and a way to market it. We like snakes, so we came up with the idea of producing a leucistic columbian. Only thing is I don't know what the market value would be. I'm guessing about 125-150K. Anyone have a better guess?

150K sounds right, but I wouldn't doubt it if it were more.

Has detected a fatal error in your query: no "market value" can be determined, reason:"market values" are reached by across the board competative, comparisons, sharply affected by supply,and,demand...in your hypothetical scenario, what you would have is predictably huge demand, and, criticly limited supply,(theoreticlly:1?)....in this type of situation a minimal entry price would logically be established,to allow several individuals,or,groups to then place a bid, with a possible allowance for counter-offers? there are a host of variables that could also affect the demand, such as over-all condition of the animal,(visual appearence?)sex, pressumed age,(viability),captive produced,or,import,etc...just my opinion?

Well I personally do not think a leucy boa would fetch that kind of asking price..my guess would be in the 50 grand range... My reasoning is the ball python leucys are not even worth that high of a price and the ball morphs are always going higher then boas... Just my opinion on it. Later Randy T.

You can also look at the T albinos,, I believe (don't quote me on this.lol) they were going for around 25-30 when they first arrived and I think the T albino is a far more impressive animal then the fictional leucy boa.
