Just Another New Pyro

From Gerold Merker.
Here the newest family member is after arriving this morning by Fedex, getting weighed (a respectable 10.6 grams), getting a live pink dipped in water (he had to be thirsty,, too) and put under his hide to digest. He has since come out to explore. Note the full belly!

Thanks, everyone for the nice comments!

Here he is just out of the Fedex box. Get weighed, get photographed, get fed, get put in habitat under hide. That is my routine with all my new snakes. They always seem to be very hungry upon arrival.
He does have nice tight bands, with a neat little double white band in the middle. I like them to have some sort of little oddity in their pattern so I can always tell them apart in case of mix ups with the feeding containers, etc.

I have noticed he produces nice lookers over the years. Pyros are a favorite

Love the cross overs and multitude of bands. what a looker

Thanks!
Here is one of his future mates:

An 09 female, picture taken this June. Although it seems a long wait for them all to get old enough to breed, I myself am at an age now where time goes so fast I can feel the wind on my face. So it is easy to be patient.

Yesterday my new little pyro ate two plump live pinks. He is doing great! With babies I feed them every four to five days for their first several months of life. Eventually they let me know when to slack off and space the feedings further apart.
Handling him is a trip! He is smaller than the nightcrawlers in my garden! LOL! But what colors and bands; money well spent!
